Up for sale is a gorgeous hand-blown New York blob soda or mineral water bottle dating to the late 1880s. Its a good example of this very late type of squat / pony soda shape, what might be called a "steamer soda" elsewhere, a relatively small cylindrical form with only a slight shoulder and pretty short neck. Its a pleasant blue aquamarine color. The bottle was blown in a full-body "private" mold and its embossed at front with "ALBERT D. BUSCHMAN / *ADB monogram* / REGISTERED / CONEY ISLAND / N. Y.", and emossed to the rear with "MINERAL WATER / 1888". It also has a five-point star embossed on the recessed base. It has got a tooled round blob lip retaining its complete wire/metal Putnam closure, rusty but still swinging with some effort. Its around 7 5/8" tall (without counting the closure), and a bit under 2 3/8" in diameter at the base.

Its in excellent condition, never buried with no stain but still heavily used with some light scratching and scuffing, plus a small shallow chip/bruise under the base, a smaller bruise to the rear heel, and just a bit of case wear primarily at the monogram. The chip is not visible straight on and its easy to overlook - a very good example of an uncommon Coney Island bottle!Satisfaction guaranteed, if youre not in love after handling it in person Im happy to accept returns.
